Short answer: the best software for coaches is the one that gathers planning, tracking the load, messages and payments in a single site, connects with the watches of your athletes and does not get expensive as you grow. In endurance, TrainingPeaks is the standard; Final Surge, Nolio and Intervals.icu are alternatives. TrueCoach is the reference in English.
If you train endurance and strength athletes in Spanish, and want a tool that saves you work without deciding for you, TrainingForever is designed for that: it has a free version up to 5 athletes and then costs 0.99 € per active athlete per month, with a maximum of 49 €/month. Includes the AI Assistant.
Below you have the function checklist, the comparison with verified prices (date and source) and how to decide according to your type of business.

What is a coach software (and what isn't)?
A coach software is the tool where the coach manages his athletes: tokens, plans, sessions, clock data, feedback, messages and, increasingly, collections. It is not an automatic plan app for the athlete (Runna, TriDot...), which replaces the coach. It's the opposite: a tool for you to work better.
That is why it is appropriate to separate two uses of AI:
| Approach | What does AI do? | Who decides? |
|---|---|---|
| IA replacing | Generates and adjusts athlete's plan alone | The algorithm |
| IA attending | Prepare drafts, summaries and notices | The coach, which reviews and publishes |
In TrainingForever we follow a simple rule: the coach commands. Assistant AI helps with drafts; he never decides for you.
What functions should a coach software have? (checklist of 10)
Use it to compare any tool, also ours.
- Structured planning: session → template → week → block, with copy and paste between athletes.
- Synchronization with clocks: Directly with Garmin, Polar, Wahoo, Apple Health... That your athlete does not depend on an intermediate app.
- Load and progress: acute and chronic load, zones, pace, HR, power, RPE and adhesion. (We explain this in training load: CTL, ATL and TSB.)
- Integrated force: Video exercises within the same plan, not in another app.
- Session-related communication: comments and messages where the training is, not WhatsApp.
- Forms: well-being, availability, tests and anamnesis (eye: health data require compliance with GDPR).
- Daily triage: a "who needs your attention today" view.
- Collections and invoices: recurring subscriptions for your customers.
- Easy migration: import from your current tool without losing history.
- Price that scales well: How much you pay with 5, 20 and 50 athletes, and if your athletes pay anything.

Example of cost with 20 athletes (16/10/2026): - TrainingForever: €0.99 per active athlete, maximum €49/month (free version up to 5 athletes). - TrainingPeaks: $54.99/month with the 20 in Basic, plus taxes. If the coach pays Premium at 20, add 20 × 8,10 $ = 162 $. That is, the base fee plus $8.10 for each Premium athlete, according to the official TrainingPeaks calculator. - TrueCoach: Standard $57.99/month (up to 20 active customers).
Which software to choose according to your case?
Whether you're an independent running or trail coach (5–60 athletes)
Prioritize timing with watches, block planning, session communication and a price per athlete. Try two tools with 3 real athletes for 2 weeks before migrating to all.
If you combine strength and strength
Avoid having two apps (one for running and one for the gym). Find a powerful tool integrated into the same calendar and with exercise videos.
If you run a club
Look how many coaches it includes and who pays what. In TrainingForever, a club can have up to 6 coaches and has no cost of its own: each coach pays for his or her individual plan.
If you care about all the deep analysis
Intervals.icu (free) or TrainingPeaks are very solid. Appreciate whether you also need to manage the business (books, forms, messages) and if it makes up for having two tools.
Real Case: How does a coach work with 15+ years of experience?
Real Case: Marc Bañuls, coach with more than 15 years experience. Their way of working with the platform: review the "Need Your Attention" panel, adjust the sessions and publish. You can also write them in free text and the AI Wizard prepares a draft that he will review. "After so many years of training, I have learned that the tool has to take away work, not decisions. The plan is signed by me." "The first thing I look at every morning is not graphic, but who needs me to write to him today."
How to migrate from a platform without losing anything? (5 steps)
- Export history from your current tool (TrainingPeaks allows you to export; we help you migrate).
- Create your account and your most used templates.
- Invites to your athletes by link or code.
- Let them connect their watch directly: Garmin Connect and Strava (and export to Coros and Polar).
- Convive 2–4 weeks with both tools and then closes the old one.
